東北生まれ。アコースティックギターを中心にベル、弓、ボタン、などを使った自作のプリペアド・ギター、バンジョー、クラリネット、足踏みオルガン、木製の玩具、小型ピアノ、オルゴール、ドラムブラシ、テープレコーダー、鉄琴など様々な楽器を使い、広い意味での街をテーマとして作曲。親しみやすさと、柔らかさ、時に煌めきをも感じる旋律と共に、プリペアド・ギターなどの実験的手法によって普遍的かつ独創的な音楽を作っている。2014年、６年ほど住んでいた東京の西側をテーマに幻想を交えた作品「Tokyo」をflauより発表。

Machinone is a solo project of Daizo Kato who is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, Sanriku-raised, currently Atsugi based via Tokyo. He composes universal and creative music based on town in a broad sense used by several instruments like guitar, banjo, clarinet, reed organ, small piano, wood toys, music box, tape recorder, glockenspiel and cello. Machinone always try to experimental technique like prepared guitar but his pastral music has always the common touch, mellowness and sometimes we can feel sweetness.
